Restoration with the Ngahere Group
Planting for the future of Waitohi birdlife
The Ngahere Tree Planting Group is supporting the future birdlife and biodiversity of Waitohi Picton. Our group of volunteers, operate under the Picton Dawn Chorus/Kaipupu banner and had our first major planting along the Picton Waikawa Walking Track in 2023.
TOGETHER, WE’RE GROWING A GREENER FUTURE
Having already planted 1000’s of trees and grasses in the Waikawa Domain and along the Waikawa Picton walking track, the Ngahere Group have goals for much more.
New volunteers are welcome to join regular working bees and community planting days as well as weekly meets where work varies between tree planting and tree maintenance. Activities are always followed by a social cup of tea or coffee.
Every contribution helps us conserve and restore the habitats for birdlife.
As a charitable organisation we rely on the support of donors and sponsors. The Ngahere Group welcomes donations that help us to buy plants and planting consumables.
